Drywall Taping Services in Aurora, Colorado

You might be shocked at how effective drywall taping is. Tape and bed for drywall repairs can be a cost-effective technique to repair cracks or tears in wallboard. Repairs are made easier with taping, which also avoids future damage.

Gaps between the sheetrock surface and the margins of the wall are a prevalent problem in drywall installations. This is frequently the result of drywall being laid at an angle, leading to an uneven foundation. It could've even been caused by improperly fitted or removed shims.

Taping and mudding drywall will give you a smooth, flat surface that won't be damaged easily. It will also offer firm support to the walls where it's installed, reducing the risk of drooping if you want to use wallpaper in the space.

Are you dealing with this problem? Skyline Drywall Aurora is at your service! If you’re looking for a reputable drywall taping company, contact us today! We handle the following:

Our Drywall Taping Process

The steps that our drywall installers implement are:

  1. Firstly, we fill the "trough" between two components of drywall with a thick layer of joint compound. This compound should be roughly one inch thick at its thickest point.
  2. To ensure that the non-adhesive tape clings to the seam, our drywall taper pushes the tape into the compound at approximately every foot.
  3. Next, we smooth the plasterboard tape so that the seams between the sheets are not visible. There shouldn't be any tape edges sticking up.
  4. Our taping experts will allow the compound to dry before proceeding. The drying time for joint compound is normally around 24 hours.
  5. Our experts will then apply a second coat of the compound mixture. We allow this to dry completely before applying the third layer. Steps one to five will take three to four days, based on humidity. This is also based on our drywall contractor's ability to apply the compound quickly.
  6. Next, we sand the seams to a smooth finish. We use sanding mesh or sandpaper for this.
  7. Lastly, we remove the dust that accumulated during the sanding process and clean the walls.

Skyline Drywall Aurora provides the best possible outcomes each time by following these procedures to the T! Finishing drywall is not easy; however, we get the job done properly.

Drywall Tape vs. Mesh

Because drywall tape and mesh are not self-sticking, the joint compound is the material that sticks to your walls.

The rigidity of paper tape provides strong seams; however, fiberglass drywall tape is flexible and strong. It's a personal choice, although, in some circumstances, one is superior to the other.

Based on the project, our drywall taping contractor might use sheetrock mesh instead of tape, or we might choose drywall repair tape when using a combination of fiberglass mesh and paper tape.

What Is the Cost of Drywall Taping?

The cost to tape and mud drywall depends on a number of factors. Hence, the cost of one project will not be the same as the cost of another. Location, size, materials (adhesive drywall tape, fiberglass tape, mesh, etc.), condition of existing walls, labor, and the plasterboard company you choose are a few factors that affect the cost. We try our best to offer competitive prices; hence, we give all potential clients a free quote.
